Today, on Hatsune Miku’s 16th anniversary, Pokémon has announced Pokémon Project Voltage, a special collaboration between the two iconic brands. We can’t wait to see which creatures from the Pokédex the singing sensation will team up with.
Project Voltage sees the worlds of Pokémon and Hatsune Miku coming together in original artworks and Vocaloid music videos that ask the question, “What if Miku was a Pokémon trainer?” We’ll get to see exactly how the songstress would handle all of the 18 different types through a series of original illustrations releasing on the project’s official Twitter account.
Following that, over the course of the next few months, 18 Vocaloid producers, or Ps, will release Pokémon ft. Hatsune Miku-themed songs on their respective YouTube channels. The Ps have created the tracks by sampling background music and sound effects from the existing Pokémon games. We really hope the Galar gym battle music will make an appearance, as well as Hoenn’s classic horns.
